There's some nasty business going down in Tasmania. A feral intruder is on the loose. He's cunning, deadly and a master of stealth...expert at flying under the radar. And the name of the villain...is Vulpes Vulpes, the European Red Fox. But, some don't believe he even exists...

FERAL PERIL follows key members of the Tasmanian Government's Fox Eradication Program as they chase down sightings, gather evidence and battle public scepticism. It's a hard slog, but some recent developments have narrowed the search and spurred on the team.

But it's not enough to convince the Super Sceptics. For them, the Fox Squad needs confirmed kills to vindicate their efforts.

As if all this wasn't enough, at the same time as foxes are showing up more and more, Tasmania's top predator, the Devil, is being decimated by a mysterious disease - a contagious facial cancer that threatens extinction.

Biologists reckon the two threats must be linked - devil numbers go down, fox's go up. It's the kind of situation that requires urgent action. FERAL PERIL tracks the Fox and Devil teams as they try to pull Tasmania back to ecological stability. But will nature's course prove too powerful for mankind's intervention?
